Challenge

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the world we know has changed. Businesses, customers and consumers have had to change the way that they interact, with the focus on helping keep people safe.

Aeguana created a unique touchless vending technology, for all of their vending machines, it’s operated through the use of a mobile phone and a QR code/short URL, and provides automated retail customers with the ability to control, select and pay for a product without the need to touch the vending machine – at all.

The team at Aeguana recognise that a multi-faceted approach to vending machines is required, meaning that they still continue to manufacture and provide traditional touchscreen machines, and offer a touchless workflow as a software feature, without requiring any additional hardware. This adaptability ensures that all spectrums and requirements are covered, especially looking forward to a post Covid-19 world where the demand for touchscreen interaction could return.

Their vision was to provide a connected vending solution that could be shipped to anywhere globally enabling consumers to engage with and ultimately purchase from their machines without requiring any additional hardware, configuration or even having to download a mobile application. Their need was for constant connectivity and resilience with minimal downtime to provide their customers with a seamless retail experience. At the same time they needed the flexibility to run a variety of different retail experiences – from minimal, transactional flows through to media-heavy real-time, interactive customer journeys.

Solution

Working with Wireless Logic meant that Aeguana were able to put together a full end-to-end solution, using an un-steered roaming SIM integrated into a pre-configured router – mitigating the risk of any downtime regardless of the deployment and location of the installation. This meant that Aeguana could guarantee quick and easy deployment as a result of the plug and play connectivity provided by Wireless Logic.

Using a Fixed Private IP solution also meant that any data generated from the vending machines would be securely transmitted via Wireless Logic’s private APN. Wireless Logic’s SIM Management Platform, SIMPro, provides Aeguana with the ability to not only view, manage and monitor SIMs globally but continue to order or cancel SIMs at any time, all through one window.

Outcome

Being able to deliver an effective deployment of vending machines with a simple plug and play connected solution, all of which is monitored and controlled remotely, Aeguana have been able to provide a completely new and safe experience to their customers, reducing the risk of COVID-19 to give complete peace of mind. During this incredibly testing period for companies globally, Aeguana have risen to the challenge, adapting their solution to provide a unique and highly sought-after product.
