Wanstor: minimising down time through IoT connectivity

About Wanstor

Wanstor is a Managed IT Service Provider delivering a wide portfolio of secure IT services to mid-tier businesses in the UK.  Founded in 2002, Wanstor has carved out a market-leading proposition through its ability to provide unprecedented levels of proactive support across its networking infrastructure, cloud services and security portfolio to help businesses be more agile and stay ahead. It provides managed IT services to all sectors, and particularly to many of the UK’s well-known brands in hospitality, retail and not-for-profit.

Hospitality businesses and restaurant chains rely on internet connectivity to be able to provide excellent customer service to their clients and help to support staff in the day to day running of a restaurant. With more restaurants offering a take-away service as well as in-house dining, having a seamless and reliable connection to be able to take customer orders and payments as well as the day to day running of the business is paramount to ensure there are no interruptions. In the event of fixed lines going down, having a backup solution provides restaurants with peace of mind that the business will continue to operate efficiently.

Working with Wireless Logic meant that Wanstor were able to provide their hospitality customers with a full connectivity wrap. The solution included a pre-configured 4G router with simple instruction and minimal installation or technical expertise needed by the restaurant chain.

An unsteered roaming SIM always provides the restaurant with the strongest network signal, removing the need for onsite surveys to check signal strength at every location.

Coupled with an IPSec VPN, all data generated from the restaurant is kept highly secure and using Wireless Logic’ Management Platform, SIMPro, allows Wanstor to manage and monitor their entire SIM estate in one visible window.

This end to end connectivity provides restaurants with a 4G backup solution if their fixed lines go down.

Wanstor have been able to further cement and continue to build a strong relationship with their clients by ensuring that in the event of network failure, restaurants are able to continue to provide the best in service for their customers. This is particularly important for restaurants who are now offering a take-away service to ensure a reliable connection is available to receive payments quickly upon collection.

‘Our hospitality customers are extremely reliant on internet connectivity services to ensure the guest experience and the working life of their staff is as simple as possible. Ensuring payment and guest services are not interrupted plays a key part in the successful running of a restaurant. Wireless Logic have a solution which not only adds failover configuration utilising 4G but also the big four mobile providers. Coupling this with their understanding of our requirements and the speed of rollout Wireless Logic have been a great partner to work with.
